Description
All of my designs begin on paper. I use a gelatin plate and multiple layers of rich color with different stencils and stamps to create a vibrant and deeply textured print. I also use watercolors, chalk, pencil and marker. I mostly just play and see where things end up. When a piece of artwork catches my eye, I digitize it and turn it into a repeating pattern. Sometimes I use the patterns within my illustrations (refer to the Fabric Panels) and then use the illustrations to create more repeating patterns. The textile designs are then uploaded to my fabric printer and printed on a high quality quilting cotton using textile inks that are vibrant and wash-safe.
