Illustrations and Textile Designs by TAMMY WENDERLICH, Corrales, NM
First, I make art on paper. Then, I turn this art into repeating patterns that can be used as textile designs. Next, I convert sketches of animals and plants into graphics design line drawings. I use the repeating patterns to fill the shapes of the illustrations .. scaling and rotating as necessary. And then I layer the illustration with background art – typically watercolor landscapes or garden details. The result is a digital collage of my original artwork.
