In the town where we live, there is a network of trails along the acequias (ah-say-key-a’s) which is a lovely Spanish word for the canals that feed water to the agricultural fields from the Rio Grande. We use these trails to walk our dogs and love it when we see local wildlife heading to and from the acequias for a drink.
